सुनता है गुरु ज्ञानी

Kabir ji was a 15th century saint and mystic poet, who was born in Kashi. He was blessed with Ram naam, the holy mantra by his Guru, Ramanand.

Weaving profound insights in a very simple fashion, his poems and songs make deep and direct connection with even the mundane chores of our daily lives. In this song, Kabir urges the seeker to see beyond duality and illusion, and experience the uniting principle of all lives.

Kumar Gandharv ji, through his great style of singing, has put the soul of melody in already soulful compositions of Kabir.

Enjoy the Bliss in this bhajan...

Lyrics and meaning in English

Sunta hai guru gyani, gyani, gyani, gyani, gyani

The one anointed by the Guru, hears Soft melodious sounds of cosmic directions

Paahile aaye, Naad bindu se peechhe jamaya paani, paani ho ji
Sab ghat puran guru rahya hai, alakh purush nirvaani ho ji

Your soul originated from “naad bindu” [dot of celestial origin], and here, you hoard water [referring to things which by their very nature flow freely] The whole world says repeatedly, This is how it is and must be. While Brahma Himself is without words. [soundless]

Vahaa se aaya, patta likhaaya, trishna toone bujhai,
Amrut chhod chhod vishay ko dhaave, Khol de phaans phansaani ho ji,

Your soul arrived from there, to an address in this world, for quenching its thirst (desire) for God. But leaving the nectar you are drinking poison again and again. Go back and untangle your own trap.

Gagan mandal mein gau biyaani, bhoii se dahii jamaaya,
Maakhan maakhan santon khaaya, Chhaachh jagat baparaanii ho ji,

The celestial cow [of knowledge] is milked, and God makes curd for the benefit of everyone. Those who know this (wise men) reach for the creamy layer. Buttermilk is what the rest all remain content with.

Bin dharti ek mandal diisee, Bin saruvar joo paani re

Gagan mandal mein ho ujiyara, Bole guru-mukh baani ho ji,

In that state (of Bliss) appears a place without earth (or any palnet), water appears without any lake ( holding it). Celestial sphere lights up [when one experiences this state], so says the voice and words of the Guru.

Oham, soham baaja baaje, Trikuti dhaam suuhaanii re
Iira, pingala, sukhaman naarii, Sun dhvaja phaharaani ho ji,

Sounds emanating Koham, Soham surround the sacred Trikuti (a space in the centre of the eyebrows) land rendering a wonderfully relaxed state. Ida, Pingala and Sukhmana energies flow freely upon listening to devotional songs. ["Some say that when a child is born it cries, Koham-Koham which means Who am I? That is when the Creator replies back, Soham. You are the same as I am." Source

Kahe Kabir, suno bhai saadho, Jai agam ki baani re
Din bhar re jo nazar bhar dekhe, Ajar amar ho nishani ho ji,

Says Kabir, Listen O righteous, blessed man. Understand the world of "Agam". Understand, experience and become one with the non-ageing and eternal One who looks after this entire universe every single moment. Un-moving and eternal remains that sign.

Clear the clutter from your mind; everyday.

With the passage of time, we accumulate so much of clutter in the mind, that it is hardly free to accept new creative thoughts. So we need a mechanism to daily unplug our mind for a while.

Meditation is the way to remove unwanted thoughts from the mind. It may seem seem difficult in the beginning, but the practice will make you addictive to its benefits.

When you get up in the morning, sit the in lotus posture; just as you see Budhha postures in meditation. Close your eyes. Just sit that way focusing on your breath (respiration) for about 10 minutes, to be gradually increased to 20 minutes over next few weeks. Do not think of anything. When thoughts come, take them easy, view them like a third person. In a while they will vanish; allowing you to focus on the breathing process. Just conduct yourself as a child who knows nothing. Meditation helps in taking you to a higher realm of spirituality. At the end of the session, slowly bring your attention back to your surroundings, listening to the sounds in the vicinity and gradually open your eyes.

In the beginning, you may find it boring. But slowly, over the days or weeks, your mind will learn to still itself from all thoughts....and that is what is desired of meditation. A stilled mind gives room to serenity and the thoughts from the real Self of us start emanating from within, giving you ideas and making room for a grip on the situations that are encountered in day to day life,

Meditation is a lengthy process which can be experienced with practice alone. We will discuss more illustrative techniques in the later blogs. Till then, just start your day with the practice given above.
Meditation is an excellent tool to check anxiety. It empowers us with peace and makes us feel part of the cosmos, like all else are.

I am sure, you will experience a positive change just after a few days or weeks. After the meditation session, you will feel light like never before with all your worries gone.

Happy meditating!
Enjoy the bliss that meditation gives!

Forget the past

Past is a drag on free thinking...

Memories of the past are a mix of good and bad experiences. While we always tend to cherish the good ones, we derive regret and sorrow from the past bad experiences.

If our mind is clear like a new page, we increase receptivity to new ideas and future. And to do that, we should, everyday, practice the art of forgetting our past.

Whenever the mind goesback into the past memories, just think...

That was past that cannot be relived; so why think of it. Just keep your mind free of any past clutter.

With continuous practice, a great art of looking ahead to positivity can be achieved.
Just try it continuously for a few weeks, and see the wonders it brings.

Who we are

Sri Ramana Maharashi

Are we really different of each other

in One cosmos?

This universe that
we see, hear and feel;
came into existence from an event called Big Bang.
Since there was no physical object before Big Bang,
there was no differentiation of between the stars, planets and life forms.
So, if the source of all creativity, including you and me, is the same big bang,
then how come are we different from each other in our happiness and sorrows?

To know this is the real knowledge of the Self.
